CONSUL GENERAL AMBASSADOR ANNE KATUSIIME RECEIVES UGANDAN PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION ON STUDY VISIT TO THE EAC

Today, Consul General Ambassador Anne Katusiime welcomed a Ugandan parliamentary delegation on a study visit to the East African Community (EAC) in Arusha, Tanzania. The delegation was led by Hon. Joel Ssenyonyi, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, and included:

  • Hon. Luttamaguzi Ssemakula (Democratic Party)
  • Hon. Helen Nakimuli (National Unity Platform)
  • Hon. Susan Mugabi Nakazibwe (National Unity Platform)
  • Hon. Fortunate Rose Nantongo (National Unity Platform)
  • Ms. Irene Timugibwa Wandera (Delegation Secretary)

During the visit, Ambassador Katusiime provided a warm reception and delivered a comprehensive briefing on the history, mandate, and strategic role of the Uganda Consulate in Arusha. She highlighted the Consulate’s contributions to strengthening Uganda’s presence in the region and enhancing bilateral and regional cooperation.

The discussions also focused on exploring opportunities for the Consulate to leverage its position to promote Uganda as a premier tourism destination. The delegation commended the Consulate’s efforts in advancing Uganda’s interests within the EAC and expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality extended during their visit.

The study visit provided a platform for fruitful engagements on deepening Uganda’s participation in regional affairs and maximizing the benefits of EAC integration.
